Tears of Godly Sorrow

A couple of weeks ago I was spending time alone (unusual at home) in my room and kneeling next to the bed and began to cry - an emotional and deep-felt sorrow. In a personal revelation that I have not measured up to the mark and at times have totally missed it....been complacent when I should have acted or supported...been living a life of mediocrity and defeat when I should have believed in the promises of God and not given up. Yes, I may have had some very hard circumstances to get through and some heartbreaking setbacks - but I should have not "checked out" in the aching. So I saw a picture of what a person's godly tears would look like - full of color and gold and diamonds. Godly sorrow brings about repentance and a turning of the head in a new direction. I think true godly sorrow looks beautiful to Him and are worth more than we know.
